About the Project:

EAS were asked to carry out the removal and full decontamination/environmental clean of all ACMs within a 720m² floor void under fully controlled conditions.

The floor void contained sectional and hand applied asbestos insulation to pipework as well as a vast amount of rubble.

Careful planning was needed for the execution of this project as the school was to remain operational, works were carried out at night to reduce the risk.

There was also the additional risk of the enclosure having restricted access. Various control measures were implemented to reduce the risk as far as reasonably practicable such as secondary escapes, isolation of services and issue of extra PPE.

Utilising the appropriate resources works were completed on time and with minimal disruption to the School.
