Sansome Walk Swimming Pool

About the Project:

EAS were instructed to carry out the removal of licensed asbestos materials within a derelict swimming pool and fitness centre.

The asbestos removal works formed part of a £2.6 million redevelopment programme undertaken by Worcester City Council within a residential area of Worcester City Centre.

The planning of the project entailed numerous complex risks that had to be considered such as:

• Conducting structural reports
• Organising load bearing scaffolding and weekly inspections
• Noise Reduction due to close proximity to residential homes
• Working at height and the use of MEWPs
• Working within restricted areas
• Creating project specific emergency procedures and rescue plans

The fitness centre was broken down into various phases as agreed with our client to enable complete segregation allowing both companies to work concurrently.
